Robert Volpe, Managing Partner and Senior Consultant, brings more than twenty years of experience in managing cross-functional teams that combine strategy, business development, financial analysis, commercialization, and corporate marketing. His experience includes the successful building and leading of start-up organizations in the renewable energy, web and e-commerce, and health and wellness industries. Robert's success in a variety of industries means that he knows how to address complex strategic decisions.
AT DTI, Robert has led projects in the areas of wind, solar, biomass and waste conversion, energy efficiency, smart grid, software and medical technology. His last project included the development and execution of a multi-channel strategy for B2B, B2C and B2G carbon products and pyrolysis and gasification systems. The strategy was first developed through extensive research and documented in a 140 page plan. The execution of the strategy included Robert building a sales and marketing team of more than 65, creating sales training, distributor and merchandising programs. Directly, he worked with foreign governments and business leaders for waste conversion system deals in excess of $350 million. Also at DTI, Robert successfully led international business development within the solar/photovoltaic industry with projects exceeding $40 million, and developed commercialization and marketing strategies for waste-to-energy, wind, solar and algae-based biofuel companies. Robert has been a speaker at international conferences, including the 2009 International Biomass Conference where he was a panelist on the topic of Pyrolysis and Its Products and a speaker on Biochar and Advanced Pyrolysis and Gasification.
Prior to DTI Consulting, Robert was a director and partner for over 10 years at an enterprise technology solutions provider specializing in e-commerce and customer relationship management. His leadership role in the company encompassed development and implementation of strategic business plans, business development, marketing, product development, and operations. Prior to this role, he has held positions leading business development, marketing, and operations for start-up and growth-stage companies.
His passion is to build successful companies through the development of innovative strategies, effective execution, and aggressive business development with a dedicated team that can have fun while overcoming challenges. Robert has an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado and a B.S. from Boston University. Always looking to develop new skills and provide additional value to an organization, he continues to learn and is two classes away from an M.S. in Finance.
Bill Williams
Mr. Williams has 30 years experience in the energy and real estate industries with a number of successful start up companies. Mr. Williams' first start up was Property Resources Inc in 1975 which became one of the most successful investment property brokerage, development and management companies in the Denver area.
Mr. Williams founded Altresco Inc., in 1986, to pursue the development of alternative energy projects and investments. Altresco Inc evolved to develop the $200,000,000 Altresco Pittsfield 165 MW power plant, Berkshire Energy natural gas pipeline and Altresco Lynn 165 MW power plant, prior to its sale in 1993. In 1992, Altresco assisted in creating the framework for developing the first major power generating facility to be privately financed and built in a developing country, (the Philippines), without a sovereign financial guarantee. The $840,000,000.00 facility provides power to the Manila Electric Company.
Mr. Williams founded The Center for Integrated Infrastructure Strategies in 1995 to provide education and assistance to developing countries and energy sectors to facilitate the process of privatization of their energy infrastructure and sustainable environmental policies. CIIS provided services to India, Sri Lanka, China, Korea, The Philippines and Malaysia. Since 1998 Bill has been focused on the United States and assisting sustainable energy start ups through angel investing and mentoring. Through this activity Bill has participated in several NREL investor forums and has consulted with and participated in the evolution of several promising alternative energy start ups. Bill is currently active as a consultant and principal in several renewable energy enterprises including biomass, wind, solar, water and transmission.
James LeBeau
Mr. LeBeau brings over 30 years of business experience to DTI, including as founder and president of a multi-million dollar manufacturer of communication products, a lead technical consultant for technology companies, and as an instructor of technology at Babson College.
He provides technical and strategic consulting to a variety of companies and has vast knowledge of mission critical system design and execution. Jim has both a B.S. and M.E. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
Josie Dembiczak
Josie is responsible for coordinating and implementing integrated marketing communication projects, which include advertising, public relations, special events, market research and creating brand awareness. She assists in the development and execution of strategies, managing outreach efforts.
In addition to her strong and ambitious work ethic, Josie brings 8 years of diverse marketing and sales practice. Some of Josie’s most recent experience includes brand development, merchandise marketing, strategy development and event coordinating. Josie earned a B.A. in Communication and Media Management from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
